Game Chat and Orders - Venturing
This will be the chat topic. If you want to know everytime the GM or another player leaves a message for someone in the game chat, I recommend that you check the box that lets you receive notification everytime someone replies.
This will be one of my random-linked adventures campaigns that could go on indefinitely if the warriors survive.
Anyone that wants to play should be able to login at least once in every three days (as a rule). Whoever tells me they want to play will be allowed. Please be sure to read my Old Warrior Rules and my message board guidelines.

As soon as three or four players agree to play (preferrably mentioning what type of warrior they want to try also), I will work on getting the warriors and the game set up for play.
To see how this game will work (other than its random nature, rather than designed), see the War to End All Orcs game and click on the separate topics and try out the handy links to see how easily you can move throughout the game. I recommend opening each link in a new tab if you have tabbed browsing ability (right click on each link and choose "Open in new tab").

I think we will need to recreate Raguel (GM note: 857 for avatar, I think), a Wardancer. I think the only random stat would be his wounds if I am not mistaken. Please use the dice server if you want to roll your wounds, or I can roll for you.

I hope irony is ok for you during game play, because we really need that dice rolling feature. Or, is there another dice roller that will report results in similar fashion?
EDIT: That was a lot of dice rolling just to get a BL 1 warrior onto his feet! Wounds (re-rolling any 1's and 2's), Faith, Number of Amulets, type of amulets, and number of charges in each amulet.
Suggestion: When submitting dice rolls for attacking, feel free to submit the total number of rolls that could possibly be needed to finish off all the monsters within death-blow reach. For instance, if you have three potential targets, you can roll six 1D6s representing to hit, damage, to hit, and etc. Just apply them one at a time in the orders and in the order they were rolled.

NOTE from OW: anyone who wants to add your avatar to your chat, just right click on the avatar in your Caracter Record Sheet, click on properties, then select and copy the url of the image. Then click here on Insert Image and paste the url in the "http" text box. After that you would just copy and paste from your previous chat.
I will also put the smaller versions of our avatars on my website so that we can use them.... Here are the folders/directories where yo9u can easily find your avatar number. Then right click on the link to the file and "Copy Shrotcut" or "Copy url". Then paste it here in the chat using "Insert image".

What do the players think?
Should I have each new turn as a reply to the turn text topic?
Please keep in mind that at some point we may have to click on the little number links for a topic to see the most recent post. Here's an idea: I could manually post the most recnet turn text to the original topic post, while moving the former turns (say two or three turns ago and older) to reply post(s) for archval. This wouldn't be too hard to do.
Within the Turn Text:
Should I intersperse, as I am currently doing, what happens with the phase titles (Warrior Phase, Monster Phase, & etc.) or should I have the turn description all together by itself?
Maybe I could have a "What Happened" subtitle for each turn....
You guys are doing great so far.

If i'm not mistaken there's some kind of option somewhere in the control board that makes the last posts come first. I cant remember if this is true and where you should find it but it will prevent us from having to skip throught pages.
I'd also like to suggest that you keep one full turn in one post so everything will remain synoptic.
BTW, shouldn't the wizard stand in the corner instead of Alexandr?

I cannot find such an option anywhere. If anyone finds it please let me know where it is.
I think that if you know you have visited recently you might want to click the link that takes you to the last page in a topic -- especially if you remember that you had to go to that page last time. I hope this makes sense.
I have increased the number of posts that appear on a page though, since I did find that option. However, I am not too sure that that will affect replies within each topic. (EDIT: I set the posts per page to 8, hoping this will minimize the amount of pagining down in chat and orders. So, it is actually less than the default of 10 now. Let me know whether this seems to work alright. Unless people chat a lot, I think this will work. I can set the number anywhere from 1 to 50 per page.)
Also, whenever you go to post a reply -- as I am doing right now, (which you may decide not to do, but use it to view the most recent), the replies/posts appear in reverse order with the most recent post just below the reply form. This might be a sneaky way of seeing the latest if you haven't much time or patience.

The Arrow Link to see most recent post.
I noticed a little arrow link on the topic Last Post column. If you click on that link, it will take you to the last post to the topic, automatically paging down for you. That arrow does not show for me on my own posts, I suppose it will work the same for the rest of you. In order to see this arrow you must be on the first page of the game forum. I will try to give you a link in email to the top-level (if I remember).
If people use the arrow link, it is easy from there to scroll up the page to any other posts that may have been missed (except when they appear on the previous page).

Alexandr, nor anyone else in the party. may NOT wear a helmet. Sorry, Alexandr. You mainly are just deciding who will get to carry the thing for sell value (or perhaps as an alternate item they could lose in a "lose-one-item" type of event).

I do not put weight in someone who flees after the danger has been vanquished, and does not even help to quell the danger. I say we proceed, but need to keep a closer eye on our surroundings. A warning should have some from behind, not from deep within the cavern.

Yippee! I am testing the moderator fucntion here.
OW can give a member moderator privileges on a specific forum so that they can edit/delete player's posts, but they cannot affect OW's posts unless he changes that option.
I feel in control! I mean OW does. LOL

Turn text says Turn 7 in big letters.
This might be my fault though, since I encouraged you to use the arrows to jump to the latest post.
For Turn Text, you should always be able to see the latest turn by clicking on the topic itself, since I copy and past in order to save the turn jsut finished in history and Last turn posts. Then I edit the first post to make it the current turn.
