Re: Chat & Orders
Lets see what my guy and girl can get out of it!
Frenzy: 1, nope
the PP moves north (N - NW) and attacks the final skaven Assasin
to hit: 5 - damage dice: 2 - dodge: 5
2nd attack, same target
to hit: 1 - miss
3rd attack
to hit: 3 - miss
How usefull was that!!
Forgot his magical weapon that can re-roll the first miss, Re-rolling 2nd attack
to hit: 1, still a miss!
--
Ellen then fires her pistol at the same assasin
to hit: 4 - Dodge: 4 - damage dice: 5 (dead)
2nd shot at the Warlord
to hit: 4 - Armour: 5 - resisted the shot
I will then charm the PP
--
Grimgor draws his big helbard again, and strikes at the monk directly north of him (2-rank weapon)
to hit: 3 - miss
2nd attack (this one with fangs)
to hit: 3 - miss
OW EDIT: Since Grimgor did not move to become adjacent to his target, Fangs is not applicable -- for future reference.

Re: Chat & Orders
Sorry for the absence. I was unfortunatly in a car crash between christmas and new years. A drunk driver plowed into me and I have been in hospital for a while. And online gaming hasn't been on the top of my list
Ring on the Warlord
to hit: 5
does his armour and dodge apply? if they do, then here they come
armour: 5 - dodge: 5
Gaze on the monk next to me, and one of the others. dont care which
to hits: 6+3

Warlord versus Ring of Desolation
I am glad to have you back with us, Auroya. I am thankful that you have survived that ordeal.
I am going to rule that the armour doesn't affect the ring.
However, the Warlord has a Dodge ability apart from the armour. The armour is basically like the Ignore Blow ability, but the Dodge ability works just like the Elf's Dodge skill. Therefore, the 5 rolled above does allow the Warlord to dodge the ice missile.
There is another conisderation for future reference. The Warlord has Magic Resistance of 3+ with his armour and natural magic resitance combined. I believe that the Ring of Desolation is a magical attack. The ballistic skill just determines how well the ring is aimed at the target.
Therefore, getting the Ring of Desolation to work against the Warlord will be quite difficult, becuase he can both dodge the ice missile and resist its effects.
Positive Note: Kurgan's gazes are neither physical NOR magical, but rather psychological -- sort of like the fear that some monsters have. The Warlord would not be able to dodge NOR to resist the gazes.

Re: Warlord versus Ring of Desolation
Forgotton snaps into action.
Frenzy! (1d6=6)
Sword of Khaine
1st Attack - S: (1d6, 1d6, 1d6=[3], [4], [3]) - Kills.
Deathblow: SE (1d6, 1d6, 1d6=[1], [2], [5]) - Miss
2nd Attack SE (1d6, 1d6, 1d6=[1], [3], [6]) - Miss
3rd Attack: SE (1d6, 1d6, 1d6=[2], [3], [1]) - Hit, but leaves it with a wound remaining.
4th Attack SE (1d6, 1d6, 1d6=[1], [2], [1]) - Miss
Okay - to say I need a 2+ to hit them and only 5+ on 2 dice to kill them that was a bit disappointing.

Nudging Kurgan...
Kurgan fails to break pinning.
He then nearly slays one frenzied monk that is next to Ellen with his Snarling Blade and one poisonous bite. He slays another two monks to his West with his blade and Razor Claws, and greatly wounds a fourth one with his Acid Spit (3 wounds).

Re: Chat & Orders
If Starfighter doesn't report in to give his orders within the next 12 hours or so, I plan to nudge Ellen and Grimgor. I don't want all my games to die, at least not before the warriors in them die. Mwahahahaha
Well, it has been more than twelve hours. I guess I got busy with other things.
So now I will nudge Ellen and Grimgor....
Ellen slays one Plague Monk, her charmed Plague Priest slays another (but doesn't frenzy), and Grimgor slays a third Plague Monk.

Re: Chat & Orders
2nd go at this.. Internet crashed last time :O
1st shot was at the last monk
to hit: 5 - damage dice: 6 - so its dead
2nd shot is on the warlord
to hit: 3 - miss
the PP goes towards the Warlord, North and North-East
Frenzy: 6! - time to kill.. so thats 6 attacks now if I remember the rules correctly?
to hits: 1+1+3+1+5+1.... so 1 hit..
Dodge: 4 - failed
Armour save: 2 - failed
Damage dice: 1
Damage dices on the PP himself because of the warp thing.. (first 3 before the hitting attack hits)
Damage dices: 2+1+3+6
end result: 9 damage to the PP, and 0 to the warlord.. well.. at least a monster got hurt LOL
---
1 step NE for grimgor, and attack in ranks
to hit: 4 - dodge: 6 - saved..

Re: Chat & Orders
Starfighter, the Plague Priest has the Cursed Black Blade which means that he re-rolls his first miss -- likely making one less hit upon himself.
Then each attack that is rebounded on the PP involves +1D6 for damage. So far that should be three separate attacks rebounded each one with 2D6+4 Strength.
I will resolve all of this once you reroll the one attack and then do all your damage dice rolls for all the attacks that rebounded.
EDIT: I am re-rolling for you, Starfighter (nudging since you have been absent a few days). I rolled a 2 for the re-roll on the PP's first attack.
As for the PP's rebounded attacks, I am using the first three dice rolls for damage that you gave above (2, 1, 3) and adding three more to them respectively (5, 2, 5). This results in total damage rolls (with strength) as follows: 11, 7, and 12, which results in 6, 1 & 7 (14 total) actual wounds caused to the Plague Priest.

Re: Chat & Orders
Forgotton's eyes narrow & he switches to his Obsidian Blade and launches himself at the rat-thing in a cold fury.
6-Frenzy
6-hit (1-no effect on armour)(1-no Armour Resist) 5+1+3S-7T=2Wounds.
4-hit (1-no effect on armour)(1-no Armour Resist) 6+2+3S-7T=4wounds.
4-hit (6-Shatters Armour) (1-no Armour Resist if applicable, don't know what order this resovles in) 1+4+3S-4T=4Wounds.
5-hit, 3+5+3S-4T=7Wounds. (but, this attack was dodged, resulting in no wounds caused )
Much better
Skeleton Attack - 1Miss.
OW EDIT: I just corrected some wound results and added the dodge note.

Re: Chat & Orders
We need the Warlord's Dodge (5+) rolls for the four attacks:
1st = 2
2nd = 3
3rd = 1
4th = 5 The Warlord Dodges the last attack. Therefore, the armour was indeed destroyed in the 3rd attack, but the fourth attack does no harm.
I would say, for future reference that the destruction of the armour happens before the armour could resist (my own ruling). Dodge happens before the attack could make contact. Note that the wording of the special sword's description says that it ignores and destroys the armour. It ignores first, so we do not need to subtract the armour's toughness benefit for the attack in which the armour is destroyed. Here I go sounding complicated again.
quote: On a score of 4, 5 or 6 the sword ignores and destroys the target's armour.
EDIT: I first posted some nonsense about the armour NOT yet being destroyed, but I had gotten the attacks out of order in my mind.
REMINDER for Starfighter: The Plague Priest will attempt to resist the charm spell from this turn onwards.

Re: Chat & Orders
Seeing how dangerous the Plague Priest is with its Weeping Cursed Black Blade, and knowing it is likely to resist the Witch's charm, Kurgan attacks it. He misses twice with his Snarling Blade, rakes it with his Razor claws (3 wounds), misses with both bites and then spits acid which slides harmlessly off the priest's tough hide.

Re: Chat & Orders
Since th charm spell was cancelled, I will cast it again on the PP
my pistol shots go towards the Warlord of course
to hits: 5+6 - Damage dices: 1 and 1
to hit and damage, to hit and damage (1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=6, 1d6=1)
Dodges: Warlord Dodge (1d6=1, 1d6=6)
so thats 1 dodge and 1 hit..
1+6-4 = 3 wounds
--
PP turn
attacks will full force at the warlord (all 6 attacks!)
to hits: To hits (1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=2, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=3)
ouch.. thats gonna hurt..
2 hits on himself firstly, then followed by 1 hit on the warlord
Damage dices towards himself:
Damage (1d6=4, 1d6=3)
4+4-5 = 3 wounds, 3+4-5 = 2 wounds
5 wounds to himself! one short of killing himself then..
Dodge on the attack that hit:
Dodge (1d6=6)
and it was dodged..
--
Grimgor sees the chance to finish the Plague Priest
to hit and both damages (1d6=5, 2d6=9)
a 5 to hit, followed by a 9 for damage with fangs..
thats plenty enough to slay the much wounded Plague Priest..

Re: Chat & Orders
Poor Plague Priest!
Oh, Starfighter, I think you need to re-roll one of the Plague Priest's attacks, because he has the Cursed Black Blade. -- I would think you would want to re-roll one of the 1's. This would cancel out the one of the attacks against the PP (maybe -- as long as you don't re-roll with a 1).
Also, you have forgotten again that the Cursed Black Blade does an extra damage dice (both on himself and upon his target).
Depending upon what happens, you might want to change Grimgor's orders.... ????

Re: Chat & Orders
oh right you are!
re-rolling first 1 to hit
re-roll to hit (1d6=6)
damage dice (2d6=9)
dodge (1d6=3)
9+4-4 = 9 wounds on the warlord (leaves it with 5 wounds left)
extra damage dice on itself
extra damage (1d6=3)
so I still end up doing 5 wounds to myself, but 9 wounds on the warlord
Grimgor's orders stand as they are, and he slays the Plague Priest with his attack

The Fall of the Forgotten!
Kurgan's Ring and Gazes all fail!
The Warlord attacks Forgotten, but only hits once. Nevertheless, his one hit does a massive amount of damge thanks to his magic weapon (damage = 6 + 6 = 12 X 2 = 24 + Str 4 = 28). Forgotten fails to dodge and falls mortally wounded! (Now it seems we will get to see how well his Anger management works. lol)
EDIT/NOTE: Forgotten had 17 Wounds after regenerating this turn. Also, he "drew the short straw" for which of the three adjacent models would be attacked by the Warlord. If I have missed anything, please let me know. But, it really looks to me like Forgotten will get to roll on his "near second-death table". Actually this table's result is determined by the Power Phase. I think I will let SD submit the Power Phase roll until Forgotten is either really dead or resurrected.
Starfighter, your PM Inbox is full!
I want to give both of you a chance to check to see if I made any mistakes or overlooked anything.

Re: The Fall of the Forgotten!
Wow, well that was kinda unexpected...
Since I can't see any mistakes, and the monsters have had their turn - I guess I should roll power phase then...
Power Dice/Ressurection (1d6=6)
Well, that kept me down a long time then...
Wounds Regained (4d6 4=23)
Recovery (1d6=1)
So I stagger back to my feat with 23 wounds (fully healed!) but can do nothing for a turn and monsters get +1 to hit me...
EDIT: Still no anger to play with though!

Re: Chat & Orders
Actuallly, SD, I think you might have misread the instructions as to how many wounds you get. Here is the quote from Forgotten's info topic:
quote: For every turn you were dead, you regain BL+1D6 wounds. (EG Dead for 5 turns = 5D6+BLx5 wounds)
The example above in perenthesis is for being dead for five turns. Since Forgotten was only down for part of a turn (which I will count as one turn for this purpose), the formula would be 4+1d6. So, I will let you re-roll those Wounds if you wish OR you can take the first 1d6 (2) and add 4 for for the BL.

Re: Chat & Orders
That's okay.
I will still let you do your Skeleton's stuff. Since, there isn't any rule yet that says the summoned undead become un-summoned if Forgotten falls to ZERO Wounds. I don't know that it is needed since they go away at the end of combat anyway.

Re: Chat & Orders
I will now belatedly nudge the Skeleton.
Sorry I haven't been nudging and updating the games as much lately.
Starfighter, Aecrylis and now SD as well have been very much absent lately. These were the most active players in the past I think.
Also, I have been getting into a message board for writers. I have entered two monthly writing contests to see how I do and to practice a bit. One entry is a poem and the other is a story using 200 words or less. Of course, I just had to use all 200 words!
I think I might post the poem and the story in my main forum (Old Warrior's Message Board) after the voting is over. I really like how the particular forums do NOT list the author's name until after all the voting is done.

Re: Chat & Orders
Changes will be coming to my message board I think. See this topic: Nudging, Updating, & CHANGES COMING
Welcome to Charlie13, who will be playing Kurgan. He has adopted the lonely Chaos Warrior. Let me know if you did NOT get the emails I sent to you through Runboard. They help to explain how the game runs in this game forum. They also assume you have read and will refer to the Rule Book, the RolePlay Book, AND my Old Warrior Rules!.
I am giving you access to the OW Gamer Reference forum, where you can access important WHQ reference stuff (restricted access). You should now be able to see that forum.
If something doesn't change soon, we may need some other warriors in this game adopted as well.

Re: Chat & Orders
Thanks for the oppurtunity to play.
I'm going to explore the threads a bit more, but could I get a quick recap of where we're at? A room pic would be great, also a warrior sequence would be appreciated. I will re-familiarize(?) myself with Kurgan's stats and items and be ready for my turn shortly.....if it is my turn shortly.
Kurgan thrashes about randomly in what can only be assumed is a traditional chaotic jig.

Re: Chat & Orders
In all of my forum games, you go to the Turn Text topic to see the maps and the order of play.
I email you through Runboard to notify you of your turn each time (unless I forget). Also, I put in each game forum's description some text which shows whose turn it is. For instance, right now in my main (or home) message board page (where all the forums are listed) you will see that the Annihilation Station game forum has these words underneath: KURGAN'S TURN (CHarlie13)

Re: Chat & Orders
Ok, let's get chaotic on this Skaven.
First Attack with the Snarling Blade
roll - 1
Second Attack
roll - 5
damage - 3+4 = 7 wounds
Attack with Razor claws
roll - 4
damage - 2+4 = 6 wounds - toughness
Bite1
roll - 2
Bite2
roll - 2
Spit
roll - 3
drat
And then I'll gaze at him twice
Gaze1
roll - 5
Gaze2
roll - 3
well I did some damage.... Did I miss anything?
EDIT* yeah, I missed his dodge rolls and warpstone talisman.
Dodge 1st successful attack
roll - 4
Dodge 2nd successful attack
roll - 6
Talisman on myself- now it says it rebounds at full effect on me, but with 1 DD and 4 str I can't be hurt right? Unless 'full effect' means I'm to assume a 6 to hit myself in which case the blade ignores T & A... then ow, 10 wounds.
Ruling?
