Barbarian's Berserker Skill


The Barbarian's Berserker skill is reset at the end of each combat. This means that he only gets to count the kills during the current combat when adding to his 1D6 roll to go berserk.

No matter how many kills he has, if he rolls a 1 he still does nothing but cause one wound to each adjacent warrior.

Also, I am applying the one wound damage to every model adjacent to him both warriors AND monsters -- just because it makes more sense. But, no gold or experience is given for monsters killed in this way. The treasure (if any) for the event is still available though. emoticon

Is the berserk skill optional?


The actual wording on the Barbarian's card says that "there is a chance that he MAY go berserk". It DOES NOT say he "MAY go berserk if he wants to try".

I treat the berserk skill as part of the Barbarian's battle mode, or as his emotional/psychological state in battle.

Therefore, each turn, the barbarian must attempt to go berserk -- just like his card reads -- unless he is already berserk or (obviously) if the combat has ended.

EDIT: corrected the wording to say "the Barbarian's card" instead of cards.

Barbarian's Berserker Skill & Missile Weapons


For anyone that reads this -- since I recently put the link in a current game online -- I also allow the extra Berserk Attack to be used with ranged weapons. For instance, if a Barbarian has a Short bow, or other weapon which allows the Warrior to use all his Attacks with his ranged weapon, then Berserk would give him one more shot each turn.
