The Old Warrior's Laboratory - Play-testing Game
Here is the link to the game's current location in my message board:
http://www.runboard.com/bwqwhqoldwarrior.f4
ALSO, I am hosting my warrior creations on my own website, Old Warrior's Stronghold:
http://www.goodsandgoodies.com/wq/
This is a new game idea for Webquest (salvaged here in my message board) in which I want to play test my specially created warriors for Warhammer Quest. Please be forewarned that most of my warriors have a lot of rules to read and learn. The Martial Artist may be the easiest of them, with the Friendly Giant and the Changeling tying for second easiest. The Christian Missionary and the Male and Female Aes Sedai (actually three different kinds of each for a total of six possible Aes Sedai types) are likely the most complicated.
I intend to let the warrior's rules stand "as is" from the start of the game. But, I may be tweaking them during play for their compatability with Webquest functionality. Also, I will likely be making some changes along the way for the clarification and balance of the warriors for general play.
However, this game will have a preference for those that can login at least once a day. So, when you say what type of warrior you want to play test, please also state how often you think you can consistenly (on average) login (see also the "If You Choose" section at the end of this topic). If a player does not take his or her turn for 24 hours or more, I will "nudge" that player's warrior so that the game will keep moving. *
This is a linked-adventures career type campaign. The goal is to play the warriors to at least Battle Levels 4 or 5 (or as high as they can go). I will be using my random tools so that I can more easily concentrate on reviewing the warriors' rules and revising them as needed, while helping the players to learn the true interpretation of the rules -- from the author himself.
Please keep in mind that both the Friendly Giant and the Maritial Artist have gold sharing rules to keep them from capitalizing on their greater skill at killing monsters. So, I will adjust some of my Old Warrior Rules for this game to revert back to the normal WHQ rules in monster gold distribution. The changeling is similar to the Trollslayer in the way his gold/experience is handled.
Also, the Friendly Giant adds to the potential number of monsters that the party will face in Unexpected Events and he adds to the potential difficulty Objective Room monsters. (His documentation has an error in this regard. It should say that he requires a minus 1 on the Obj. Rm. Mons. Table roll.)
Here I provide links to all my warriors and links to my unofficial draft of the Changeling and his Transformation Catalog. For a brief description or some introductory comments for each of my warriors please see their separate forums in the Old Warrior message board under the Forum separator title, "House RULES/RULINGS; Custom Characters, Tables, & Board Sections". Please also see the "If You Choose..." section below the links here given.
