Greetings
Just a quick message to say hi to everyone.
I've spent the last few days reading over the forums and must admit that the idea of an online WHQ forum game never occurred to me before. Seems to all work really well though.
If anyone can give me any advice on how to wiggle my way into a game (or get invited to one, not sure what the procedure is) it would be appreciated.
Also, and I realise this is probably the wrong place to mention this, but I'm a web developer by trade, so if the online WHQ game thingy needs help, just let me know and I'll see what I can do

Re: Greetings
Hello, Roual
Glad to see your interest here. There usually isn't much in the way of new games, because I am the only GM for WHQ games (mostly, one other has been absent for a very long time).
Last I knew there was still room for one more player in the Fate of Bilbo Baggins game -- preferably a fighter type. See the folowing topic (3 pages so far) found in the WQ Game Hopper forum: NEW GAME: The Fate of Bilbo Baggins
Just post a reply to that topic stating that you would like to play. You can also post what type of warrior you would like to play. I have a list of preferred warrior types for the game in the very first post of the new game topic.
Other than that, I will soon mention some warriors that you could possibly adopt if interested. When I figure them out I will post here to let you know.
As for the Online WHQ game project, it would probably be good if you could contact Scoffer (a developer as well I believe). You will see him as fairly active in the online game topic (link below). But, he was in a bad accident -- of which you may have read already.

This message board-based online version of WHQ was created to help fill the hole left when the game called Webquest was closed down by the webmaster Bruno. He was doing a very good job at making the game work in php (of which I know so little it isn't worth mentioning). There were like over 90 games going at once I think. The games here I have tried to pattern after Webquest as much as is feasible, but there is only so much that can be done in this format.
In the new game that I mention above, I plan to use my new mapping method in which I work with an html table, background images for the squares (one in each cell), and insertion of images for warriors, monsters and objects.
This type of gaming (in a message board) seems to make a lot of work for the GM (me most of the time). If you have any desire to GM a game here, I would be glad to let you try it out.
Too bad we cannot use html in the posts... for security reasons I think.

Re: Greetings
Thank Old Warrior, I've read through the Fate of Bilbo Baggins posts, and was under the impression that all spaces had been filled, guess they will be soon
I'll drop Scoffer a PM, see if there's anything I can do to help.

Re: Greetings
Here is a quote from a reply I just added to the Warrior Adoption topic (found in the WQ Game Hopper forum):
quote: Well, now that we have another one or two potential players interested in joining games, I am going to make some of my warriors available for adoption.
Here they are:
Vittor (Warrior Priest)
Zurt (Changeling at BL 3)
Eldrith (Female Aes Sedai)
If you click on each warrior above, you will be able to see their character info topic.
I am sorry that there isn't much available right now. I am very hesitant to start any new games besides the LOTR game. I am stretched too thin right now Well, Physically I could use a little more stretching and thinness (lol), but you know what I mean I think.

Re: Greetings
Thanks for the offer of adoption, to be honest, I'd rather get the hang of it with a fresh character before I jump headfirst into an already started adventure and manage to get everyone else wiped out
I'll probably take you up on the offer after I've got my bearings though.

Re: Greetings
Hey Roual. greetings as well, though i just got here myself. I looked at the adoptions available and i'd say you're right, advanced stuff all round. I'm just coming off of not playing Warhammer Quest for about 10 years so trying my best to pick up the old habits
