Warrior Phase --

Argoss and Jon move 2 steps East and go down the staircase.

Grander and Thunnk follow.


Exploration Phase

As the warriors come off of the steps, they see a large room beyond the doorway.

Event Phase 2 --



Warrior Phase --

Argoss and Jon take the corners near the doorway.

Grander steps next to Argoss and blocks the doorway.

Thunnk steps between Grandr and Jon to block the doorway.


Monster Phase

Six Skaven Gutter Runners (1-6) line up to meet the warriors, but fail to ambush them as they desire. Three censor bearers (7-9) come up behind runners, awaiting their turn at the warriors. And that's not all! Three Globadiers (10-12)line up along the far wall, ready to bomb the warriors with dangerous poisonous globes.

Power Phase 4
Event Phase 1 -- Three Ogres arrive to add to the warriors' predicament!



Warrior Phase --

Argoss slays one gutter runner, but misses the next one.

Jon greatly wounds a gutter runner next to him.

Grander swings twice with his sword, missing both times. Then he casts a fireball at the two globadiers in the SE corner, wounding one and killing the other.

Thunnk *deftly cleaves through two gutter rnners in a single blow, but the 3rd defies his every attack. He also unleashes a deranged song in a crazed Dwarven accent, but the monsters ignore it.*


Monster Phase

One globadier misses, but the other hits Argoss.
The globe bursts and gets poison all over Argoss and Grander. Grander resists the poison's effects, but it does harm Argoss (-2 wounds).

One gutter runner hits Argoss, but harms him not. Another wounds Jon (4 wounds). A third runner misses Thunnk. Then one censor bearer moves in to attack Jon and wounds him (4 wounds). Jon resists the awful fumes from the censor.

Reaction Phase

Jon heals himself quite well (8 wounds that were needed)! Grander heals Argoss (2 wounds, 10 XP).

Turn 8 -- -- Skaven Room



Power Phase 2
Event Phase 1 -- A lone warrior, wandering the dungeon comes up behind the warriors, quickly yells that there is another room where danger may wait and then leaves the warriors to their battle.



Warrior Phase --

Argoss kills two gutter runners.

Jon slays one censor bearer with the help of that strange amulet.

Grander misses a globadier twice with his short bow. Then he sends a lightning bolt at the wounded one, but it only raises its hair (rolled two 1s for damage).

Thunnk breaks free of the skaven, takes one step South, cuts a censor bearer down, and then cuts into the ogre standing next to it (4 wounds). His second attack wounds the ogre even more (2 wounds).


Monster Phase

The two globadiers miss this time. The gutter Runner wounds Thunnk greatly (5 wounds even after the nice new rune of T). The last censor bearer goes after Argoss slightly wounding him (2 wounds) with a very strong hit and wounding him more with the censor's fumes (1 wound).

One ogre wounds Thunnk (5 wounds) while two other ogre attacks miss and a third that should have pulverized him, is but a glancing blow (2 DD = 1,1 + S4 = 6, causing only 1 wound).The last ogre squeezes past Thunnk and Grander to attack Jon, giving him quite a beating (10 wounds, even with the amulet's protection).


Reaction Phase

Jon fails in his attempt to heal himself.


Wounds and Power: Party order changed to protect Grander in the middle. AND, Jon moves back behind Grander, because of his special amulet. NOTE: I finally adjusted Thunnk's wounds here to show his increase from training. emoticon

Event Phase 4 --



Warrior Phase --

Argoss slays a censor bearer.

Grander tries to break away from the ogre but cannot. But, he doesn't fear the ogre either, and wounds it slightly with one of his sword swings (-2 wounds).

Jon doesn't fear the ogre, but fails to hit it, even with his Blessed Sword.

*After looking around Thuunk decides that he'll fall from wounds anyway and attacks the Ogre N to defend his friends. He hits (5) for maximum damage (6+5=11 damage), and he swings again. Hitting once more (3) for (5+5=10 damage), managing to just slay the beast, he turns to face the others... *


Monster Phase

One globadier misses, but the other hits Jon with a poison globe. Jon and Thunnk both resist the poison. The gutter runner nearly guts Jon (5 wounds).

One ogre flattens Thunnk on the floor with a massive club blow to the head. The second ogre goes after Grander but misses him twice.


Reaction Phase

Grander heals Thunnk's wounds quite well (roll of 6 for Heal Wounds, 30 XP) and then heals all who need it with Healing Hands (Argoss, Jon, & Thunnk each get 1 wound, 15 XP). Jon heals his own wounds somewhat (6 wounds).

Warrior Phase --

Argoss (Berserk) greatly wounds the wounded ogre, leaving it barely alive.

Grander hits the ogre once, but fails to cut through its tough skin. Then he expends current a reserve power to fry both the wounded ogre and the wounded globadier with powerful lightning bolts.

NOTE: Jon (especially), Power Tokens will be restored at the beginning of the next dungeon. emoticon

Jon casts Abulla's Snare on the last globadier, then breaks away from the skaven, runs around Thunnk and attacks the same skaven (gutter runner) from behind, killing it. But, his swing fails to hit the huge ogre standing behind the skaven.

Thunnk *with renewed confidence now that the Ogres didn't eat him for lunch he launches his attack... * and misses twice.


Monster Phase

Jon cast Glittering Robe around himself (absorbs 5 wounds this time). The ogre pounds Thunnk into the ground, leaving him for dead.


Reaction Phase

Grander, using his reserve power, slightly heals Argoss, Jon, and Thunnk, saving Thunnk's life (3 wounds on others, 15 XP).

Jon does a bit better but still not enough (3 wounds).

Thunnk wounds the ogre once (5 wounds).


Monster Phase

The ogre swings at thunnk twice, but hits only air.


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing hands three times (7 wounds on others healed, 35 XP). Jon heals Thunnk with Finger of Light twice (10 wounds healed, 50 XP).

Power Phase 4
Event Phase 1 -- Thunnk is attacked by a scorpian swarm. Though he kills 5 of them, seven sting him, causing him some major grief (7 wounds).



Warrior Phase --

Argoss (Berserk) slays the last ogre.

Grander takes a moment to catch his breath.

Jon allows the snare spell to release the last globadier next to him. Then he cuts it down with his Blessed Sword (treasure).

Combat over! Each warrior gets 743 gold from the monsters killed.

Grander picks up the ingredients belonging to the wizard in the town. The 1D3 treasures each will be rewarded once the warriors return to the town.

One Treasure (now) for the Unexpected Monster Event:

Shot (0g) Given to Grander.

Treasure Turn: Thunnk or Grander

Party Decision: To Leave or Not to Leave

The warriors may explore the rest of the dungeon or immediately return to town. Either way, the town is near to a possible Catastrophic event. So, staying there again for any reason might be folly. Also, whichever way the party decides about the dungeon, they will still meet up with Grimface when they return, and may then go on the next leg of their adventure to go through Cliff-Hang Pass.

Reaction Phase

Grander casts Lifebringer upon Thunnk and Jon, but the spell fails (double 1s rolled). Jon heals himself and Thunnk.

Mini-Adventure is over!

Mini-Quest: Recover Stolen Ingredients from Skaven
(Dungeon Level 2, RPB Monster Tables)


Treasures for retrieving the Ingredients: (warriors may trade, loan or give treasures with/to one another.)

Argoss:

Bohemond's Shield 500g, +1 toughness, Roll a D6 each blow, on a 6, the weapon is broken and destroyed.
Blade of Leaping Copper 300g, +1 attack
Lightning Bolts (4x) 100g each, Does damage of the crossbow to every model in a line directly from the Warrior, no armor

Grander:

Dwarf Pick 125g, Can clear away debris and rubble in D6 turns, but after each successful use, roll a D6: 1 = the pick breaks and is destroyed.
Rune of Parrying 500g, Bonds to Weapon. If the attack misses, removes 1 attack from the opponent (will not reduce their attacks below 1).
Spell Scroll -- Carnival of Death

Jon (sorry there is nothing he can use):

Kingshield of Tilea 200g, +1 toughness, & once per adventure negates any one blow. (But, Jon cannot use it. Argoss and Grimface only can use it while NOT using any two-handed weapons.)
Fur Cap (BDEW) 15 gold -- just for show
Heavy Spear (BD) 30 gold, –1 to hit; +1 DD; Double handed; May attack in ranks. (Only Argoss or Grimface can use it.)

Thunnk:

Roll for gold (# of D6's times 10 gold, get 0 if any are a 1)
Bracelet of Saphery 750g, Has the Bloodblade spell. Once per adventure this spell can be cast for free by the bracelet. (Thunnk Cannot use this. If he keeps it it will become gold.)
Blade of Slicing 300g, +2 wounds on successful hit. (Thunnk Cannot use this. If he keeps it it will become gold.)

Some of these treasures were traded with and donated to others in the party.

Power Phase 2
Event Phase 1 -- Four Large ogres attack. All warriors except Grimface are about to be pounded by them. Remember fear rolls.



Warrior Phase --

Argoss, though unafraid, still misses an ogre twice.

Grander is also unafraid and he cuts the ogre on him (#3) once for major damage (6 wounds caused) with his Blade of Slicing. then he unleashes a nice Lightning Bolt that wounds the beast a bit more (3 wounds caused).

Jon misses.

Grimface misses.

Thunnk nearly cuts an ogre down with one humongous swing of his Rune Axe (10 wounds caused -- see note in chat).


Monster Phase

One ogre pounds Jon once (5 wounds), missing on its first swing. Thunnk receives like treatment, but suffers a greater wounding (9 wounds). Argoss is hit twice but suffers little (1 wound, and shield is still in tact). Grander suffers two massive blows and lies near death in a pool of his own blood (on ZERO wounds).


Reaction Phase

Jon's healing spell fails to save Grander. Argoss' two fur bandages also fail. Jon hands Grimface three bandages so that perhaps the dwarf will have better success at saving Grander. Grimface tries three times to save Grander and one bandage finally works on the third attempt.

Grimface moves to attack ogre #4 and wounds it a bit, missing with his second swing.

Thunnk slays a third ogre, leaving only one such creature to attack the party.


Monster Phase

The last ogre pounds his club on Argoss' shield and misses with his second swing. Neither Argoss nor the ogre's club are hurt.

Combat over! Each warrior gets 320 gold from the ogres killed.

Treasure: Nunchuckas (E) 300 gold +4 S; -3 to hit.
(Goes to Thunnk, but since he cannot use it, it becomes 300 gold/XP).

Grimface remains where he is.

Thunnk takes one step East.


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing Hands (2 wounds on others, 10 XP). Jon helas Thunnk (4 wounds, 20 XP) and Grander (5 wounds, 25XP)..

Event Phase 1 -- Six Savage Orcs with powerful bows and one Savage Orc Shaman appraoch the warriors from behind.



Warrior Phase --

Argoss (NOT berserk yet) moves West three steps and misses with his Heavy Spear.

Grander moves West and shoots twice at the shaman with his shortbow, barely missing each time. Then he prepares to use his Dispel Magic spell -- just in case...

Jon steps around the corner, but saves his arrows for an easier-to-kill target.

Thunnk *seizes the initiative* and an *Orc dies in a shower of blood.*

Grimface, turns the corner also.


Monster Phase

As the Shaman conjures his magic, there comes a loud screeching "'Ere We Go" which empowers the savage orcs with extra toughness (next turn +1T to all orcs and goblins on the board; + Attack this turn is useless with their bows.).

Argoss, Jon, and Thunnk each are hit with an orc arrow. Argoss suffers nothing. Jon suffers a serious arrow wound (5 wounds). Thunnk suffers a bit also (2 wounds).


Reaction Phase

Grander casts healing hands twice (2 wounds each on Jon, Thunnk, & himself, 20XP). Jon's Finger of Light spell fails.

Warrior Phase --

Argoss (Berserk) slays two savage orcs with his Relic Blade.

Grander takes a step West and wastes two arrows shooting at (& missing) the orc shaman. Then he throws a fireball spells at the shaman and its three guards, wounding only the three guards, though one nearly dies from the magical flames.

Jon moves one step West.

Grimface moves with restraint, allowing Thunnk to go after the orcs.

Thunnk *Failed to seize initiative (2), but after Grimface charges W, W and attacks westwards.
2 and 1, on to hit rolls. He's obviously too overcome at the thought of slaying the orcs... *


Monster Phase

The Fist of Gork is summoned to pound Grander (only 1 roll for # of times it hits him, causing 4 wounds). Grander quickly casts Dispel Magic, but it fails to stop the powerful orc spell! Grander is then seriously injured by an orc arrow (5 wounds). Thunnk's rune of Parrying prevents one orc sword from hitting him, and his Rune of Toughness prevents the second one from hurting him.


Reaction Phase

Jon heals Grander once (5 wounds, 25XP), but his other spells fail.

Power Phase 2
Event Phase 1 -- Twelve Snotlings ambush the warriors, three ganging up on Argoss (NO wounds taken) and four ganging up on Jon (4 wounds).



Warrior Phase --

Argoss (Berserk) kills three snotlings.

Grander kills two of the liitle snots.

Jon slays two savage orcs.

Grimface cannot get around Thunnk and Jon to attack the orcs, so he rushes the snotlings and slays one.

Thunnk misses the shaman once and then whallops it good! greatly wounding it (10 woundS).


Monster Phase

The Hand of Gork spell moves the shaman and his guard away from Thunnk and clear to the other end of the corridor. Grander takes a wound from a savage orc arrow (3 wounds). The snotlings gang up on Grimface and Argoss, wounding Grimface a bit (3 wounds) but failing to harm Argoss (too much armour).


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing Hands twice (4 wounds on others, 20XP). Jon's spell fails while trying to heal himself.

Argoss (Berserk) kills two snotlings with his Blade of Leaping Copper.

Grander slays two snotlings also.

Grimface fears not the shaman and wounds him (3 wounds).

Thunnk moves three steps East.


Monster Phase

The Shaman slams Thunnk with the Fist of Gork, doing him great harm (five hits of Shaman strength + 4, 10 wounds total). The shaman pounds his sword upon Grimface's shield (no wounds done). The shaman's savage guard misses Grimface.


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing Hands twice, saving Thunnk and healing a bit all who need it (5 wounds on others 25XP). Jon heals Thunnk a good bit (4 wounds, 20XP).

Grimface fails to break free from the orcs and misses the shaman twice.

Thunnk moves two steps Eastwards.


Monster Phase

The shaman tries to put Da Krunch upon Grander, but Grander Dispels the spell! The shaman swings his sword at Grimface, but fails to harm him with a weak hit. The shaman's guard misses Grimface with his sword.


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing Hands helping himself, Jon, & Thunnk a little (2 wounds on others, 10XP). Jon's two Finger of Light spells fail this time.

Grander misses the Gigantic spider twice with his shortbow.

Jon wounds a bull centaur quite well (6 wounds).

Grimface *is not afraid in the face of his dark brethren (5+2), and swings his axe with Grudge-born fury, hitting the beast (5), for a mighty blow (6+3S-6T=3 damage) - seeing the beast still stands he strikes again. Hitting (3), with a second solid blow (5+3-6=2 damage).
"I can keep this up all day, your going down yer backwards minotaur".*

Thuunk *meanwhile takes fear (2+2) at the fate of those once Dwarven, though as a Slayer knows his duty and throws himself into the fight... Hitting (6)(1+8S+1Rune-6T=4) twice (5)(1+4S+1Run-6T=0) though while the first blow pierced the heavy armour of the Bull Centaur the second was deflected.*


Monster Phase

One bull centaur's sword falls harmlessly off of Argoss' armour once, but wounds him on the second swing (2 wounds). Jon is nearly pulverized by two heavy blows from a bull centaur. The third bull centaur pounds Grimface once (8 wounds). The Gigantic Spider webs Argoss, then gives him a little bite (-1 wound).

Grander misses the snotling twice with his shortbow. Then he blasts it with a powerful lightning bolt, leaving nothing but greenish-black ashes on the ground beside Thunnk. Then he moves (for next turn, since OW got out of order -- thinking it was a new turn already).

Argoss then signales to Thunnk to follow him as he moves...*

As soon as Argoss gets the Southeastern edge of the first line of bushes, he is accosted by a couple Dark Elf Naggaroth Black Guards! Immediately the black guards give signal to their accomplices and the area is full of activity as the warriors are ambushed by Black guards and crossbow-bearing dark elves! AMBUSH!

One bolt hits Thunnk, but his runic extra toughness protects him. Argoss is hit by two bolts, but only suffers a minor puncture wound (1 wound). Grimface is also hit by a weak bolt which harms him not.

One halberd pokes into Argoss' armur, but does no harm. Both of the dwarves are missed by black guards!

What a poor excuse for an ambush!

Argoss *draws his Heavy Spear (to do some damage!) and attacks* (4 wounds)

Grander throws a fireball at three black guards near Argoss (8, 5, 6 = 3, 0, 1 wounds caused). The bushes near Argoss are set afire -- just because.... Anyone stepping into those bushes (same square will suffer 1D6 +1 wounds modified as normal). Also, that square will provide a -2 to hit by any ballistic weapons fired through it from either direction. The same modifier applies to halberds.

Then Grander takes his bow and shoots twice at a dark elf (crossbowman) missing both times.

Jon moves out into the open (where the dark elves can make him their easy target) and nearly slays one black guard (5 wounds).

Grimface *is caught off guard by the ambush* missing twice.

Thunnk *cleaves a bloody path through the elves* (two dead).


Monster Phase

Both Jon and Argoss are hit by strong bolts (5 & 3 wounds). Amazingly, all three dark elves shooting through bushes (that the warriors are hiding behind) hit their targets! Thunnk suffers 5 wounds, Grimface none, and Grander 5 wounds.

Then the Black Guards all tear into Argoss. All of the halberds hit, one is broken on Argoss' shield and only two harm the tough barbarian (4 wounds).

Grander casts Healing Hands (+1 wound to each warrior except Grimface, 15XP). Jon gives an exceptional show of healing magic, fully healing Grander and Thunnk, while almost fully healing Argoss as well (14 wounds, 70XP).

Jaedai (NPC -- no name yet...) -- strengthens himself with the Force (+1 Str). Then he does minimum damage to one hobgoblin (2 wounds) and misses on his second swing. He turns to the Force for added assistance... pushing a Savage Orc to the other side of the clearing and knocking the wind out of it (prone and does nothing for one whole turn). Lastly, he draws upon the Force for some serious protection (Force Protection: 4 wounds absorbed this turn on the Jaedai).

Grander casts a fireball upon three of the Savage Orcs, slaying two and not even singing another! Then with his Blade of Slicing he misses a hobgoblin and wounds another (2 wounds).

Jon slays one hobgoblin to free Grimface.

Grimface, moving through the bushes, slays two hobgoblins.

Thunnk also slays two hogbobs and wounds a third (3 wounds).


Monster Phase

One orc arrow would have hit the Jaedai, but the Jaedai delfects the arrow with his Power Sabre (Redirect failed). The rest of the arrows all miss, including the one that would have hit Grander had he not been behind the bush. emoticon

The hobgoblins move in to attack. Two miss the Jaedai. Two miss Argoss and Grimface. One hits Grander (5 wounds). Thunnk's failed attack turned into a parry of his opponent's attack.

The Dark Elf Group has Dark Elves, a Beastmaster with several Chaos Hounds, a Sorcerer, a Dark Elf Champion and two Witch Elf guards.

Argoss, Jon and Grander are able to listen to some evil plotting by the dark elves and the orcs. The Orc Boss and the Dark Elf Champion are discussing the terms of their soon-to-be alliance and their plans for defeating the civilized peoples.

Orc Boss (OB): Youz dark elfies stay outta da orcs way when the real fightin begins!

Dark Elf Champion (DEC): Sure, we will stand back and shoot those that try to get away and any that would shoot or work magic against the orcs.

OB: datz good! oh, and da loot. We wantz the most of the lootz, coz, wez doin the hard fightin!

DEC: We will just pick certain items that are of special interest to our race and will certainly let the orcs have the rest. Besides, we will each get what we want most of all... dead enemies!

At this point in the conversation, one of the Chaos Hounds gives off a peculiar whine.... Several of the orc and dark elf guards start looking around, peering through the darkness, but they do not see the warriors hiding behind the bushes... yet.

Strange Apparition

Suddenly, the face of Grander appears in the strange fire...

Grander whispers to Argoss and Thunnk:

Hmmmm.... I can only guess why my face now appears in the fire... I think that I might be trying to influence this gathering from some time in the past. No telling what I might or even could do from back then....Now might be a good time for me to use my new spell scroll to cause more confusion among our enemies...



Then a bolt of lightnining flies out from the apparition and nearly kills one of the dark elves (5 wounds).

The monsters' meeting is interrupted briefly as all monster eyes focus upon the strange face in the fire. The Chaos Hounds almost ambush the apparition.

But, the Dark Elf Champ and the Orc Boss have already made an agreement. Hopefully, the warriors can prevent them from carrying news of the agreement/alliance to other orcs and dark elves.

Retreat -- The monsters retreat from the battle that they didn't know was upon them. The warriors each get +1 movement if desired this turn (in addition to +1 attack IF Argoss rolls a 3+).


Warrior Phase --

Argoss (NOT Berserk) fails to berserk and moves to pin the Dark Elf Champion and his guards. He then wounds a Witch Elf ... (Argoss fails to take proper advantage of the snotling's information and the ambush for the warriors fails.)

Grander quickly whispers, reading the Cause Animosity spell scroll. The monsters begin to look upon one another with suspicion and then bold animosity... (some will attack monsters of a different type this turn)

The Dark Elf Sorcerer resists the spell Scroll's magic (rolled a 6).

The Dark Beastmaster, while aiming his crossbow at the Orc Shaman, directs his hounds to attack the orcs, even though the hounds are unaffected by the spell scroll.

The Dark Elf Champ turns to attack a Choas Hound.

The Dark Elves begin aiming their crossbows at the Orc Shaman.

The Witch Elves turn to attack the Chaos Hounds.

The hounds begin to howl and growl at the Southernmost Black Orc and the Orc behind him as well (but will gang up on them in reverse order).

The Orc Shaman resists the scroll's magic (rolled a 6, too bad).

The Orc Boss is NOT affected by the scroll.

The Orc Archers and the Orc Swordsmen are NOT affected by the scroll.

The Black Orcs are looking really meanly at the Elves and Witch Elves (in that order)(but might attack the Chaos Hounds instead -- if pinned).

If any of the monsters' targets are unavailable when it is time to attack, they may seek out other possible targets (monsters if available).

Then Grander decides it best to shoot the Arrow of Slaying at the Dark Elf Sorcerer, almost missing (rolled a 5, but luck made it a success), but the arrow fails to kill the sorcerer (rolled a 1 for arrow effects = normal damage with Grander's Short Bow, no wounds at all in this case).

Lastly, in desperation, Grander sends a huge fireball at four orcs (two archers and two swordsmen), killing three and greatly wounding the last one (2 wounds).

Jon ensnares the Orc Boss with Abulla's Snare (out of the combat until Jon releases it).

Grimface moves to attack a Witch Elf (4 wounds).

Thunnk charges towards the orcs and misses twice. Then he sings the Slaughterhouse Song instantly killing the Dark Elf Beastmaster (wich will not now be able to shoot at the Orc Shaman emoticon).


Monster Phase

The Dark Elf Sorcerer casts Soul Drain upon the warriors, but the sorcerer is such a weak apprentice of the dark magic that the spell fails to hurt any of the warriors (toughness test easily passed by each one -- not even rolled by OW, since it only has to beat the Dungeon Level and each warrior's toughness is above that.).

The Orc Shaman 'Eadbutts Jon, but Jon wins the metaphysical battle.

The of six Dark Elve's bolts hit the Orc Shaman, but only one barely harms him (1 wound).

Three orc arrows miss the warriors entirely.

The Dark Elf Champ wounds one Chaos Hound (3 wounds).

Both Witch Elves fail to frenzy, and both miss their Chaos Hound oppoonents.

Two Chaos Hounds Tear an Orc Swordsman to pieces (dead). Three Hounds nearly slay a Black Orc. The last Hound devours one Orc Swordsman.

One Black Orc charges a Dark Elf and cuts it (2 wounds). The other one misses a Chaos Hound.

Two Orcs charge Thunnk, one wounding him (3 wounds), while the last one goes after Argoss, hitting but failing to harm him (shield fails).


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing Hands (1 wound, 5XP). Jon casts Finger of Light upon Thunnk (3 wounds, 15 XP).

Strange Apparition

A fireball comes flying out from the strange apparition of Grander and hits three Dark Elves and the Dark Elf Sorcerer (Mag. Res. failed). The fireball burns up one Dark Elf, nearly kills two others and wounds the sorcerer (3 wounds).

Grander shouts in amazement:

I have forgotten how powerful I used to be! That Fireball was produced by a Wizard of great power, a level five wizard in fact! I suspect that I will need to regain those powers if we are to survive to the very beginning of our quest ... ur, I mean to the end of our quest, which is to say to the beginning of this whole unfortunate string of circumstances. Oh dear, this time-travel thing is quite confusing.



Warrior Phase --

Argoss (NOT Berserk) slays one Witch Elf and wounds the Dark Elf Champion (6 wounds).

Grander misses a Dark Elf with two arrows.

Jon moves to engage the dark elves, but his attack versus a Dark Elf is dodged!

Grimface cuts into the Witch Elf and slays it, but fails to harm the Dark Elf Champ.

Thunnk slays one orc.


Monster Phase

The Dark Elf Sorcerer casts a Doomfire spell upon Argoss (4 wounds no mods). The Orc Shaman 'Eadbutts Jon (5 wounds AND cannot cast any spells in turn #62).

The Dark Elf Sorcerer fires off its Doomfire Ring greatly wounding Jon (11 wounds).

The Dark Elf Champ greatly wounds Argoss with its sword (shield fails)(Argoss on ZERO Wounds).

A Dark Elf hits a warrior with its crossbow bolt. Argoss suffers little from the missile (1 wound).

Only Thunnk is hit by an orc arrow (2 wounds).

Then the sorcerer misses Jon with its sword.

Grimface suffers from one of two Dark Elf sword blows (2 wounds). Jon also takes a serious wound from one of his Dark Elf attackers (3 wounds).

All six Chaos Hounds gang up upon Thunnk (miss only on 1 and add +5 strength to damage rolls) and rip him into many pieces.

The Black Orc moves to attack Jon (2 wounds = ZERO Wounds). One Black Orc and two regular Orcs try to get to Grander, but the bushes slow them down.


Reaction Phase

Grander draws slightly upon his reserve power and casts Healing Hands three times, saving Argoss, Jon, and Thunnk. (11 wounds on others, 55 XP). Jon heals himself twice (9 wounds).

Strange Apparition

The apparition of Grander causes a Pit of Despair to open beneath the Dark Elf Sorcerer and thrr Dark Elves. They all fall to their ruin within the bottomless pit.


Grander comments:

Hmmm... Now, why didn't I think of that. Well... I guess I did, but that was a long time ago.



Warrior Phase --

Argoss (NOT Berserk) slashes about in a mad craze while failing to properly enter his berserk state. (1 wound to the Champ)

Grander remembers that he has a spell scroll even more powerful than the Cause Animosity one. He pulls out the Carnival of Death scroll and studies it while sending a fireball to devour one orc and wounding another (1 wound) and while moving West and slicing into a Chaos Hound twice with his Blade of Slicing (6 wounds).

Jon (no spells this turn) attacks a Dark Elf, but it dodges.

Grimface *attacks with all his Might, but misses on the first swing. The second swing however flies true and hits the intended target. The blow is accurate enough, and the dark elf fails to dodge it, and is then decapitated!, Grimface continues his swing, aiming for the champion, but he proves too skillfull and the dwarf misses.*

Thunnk slays two Chaos Hounds.


Monster Phase

The Orc Shaman loses while trying to 'Eadbutt Grander. Argoss is brought very low by the Dark Elf Champ, but the Champ's sword is broken upon Argoss' shield (no strength added to damage by the Dark Elf Champ for the rest of the combat).

One orc arrow hits Argoss and fails to harm him.

The Dark Elf next to Jon fails to hit him.

The Chaso Hounds easily take Thunnk down (hit on 2+ and do 1D6+7 damage -- down on the first hit this time).

Jon takes 6 wounds from a Black Orc. Grander suffers from the other Black Orc's attack (3 wounds).

The last Orc misses Jon.


Reaction Phase

Grander heals all who need healing (4 wounds each, 60 XP).

The apparition of Grander for some reason levitates above the strange fire.

Argoss (NOT Berserk) fails to go berserk and slightly wounds the DE Champ (dodge failed).

Grander saves his power for healing, but calls upon his bracelet to cast BLoodblade, killing the Black Orc (1 wound). He then hits a Chaos Hound once with his Slicing Blade, but his blow is too weak to harm it (rolled a 1 for damage).

Jon slays a Dark Elf, an orc, and a Black Orc.

Grimface *strikes with his great axe at the champion, he misses with his first swing, but the 2nd hits square on and the Champ fails his dodge at the same time! The Champ has on a good armour though, and the dwarf only gives him 3 wounds.. *

Thunnk -- *Shaking his head Thuunk leaps back to his feet and swings at the hounds, though he's still off-balance.* no wounds caused


Monster Phase

(no str for DE Champ)

The Orc Shaman cast Mork Save Uz!, but it fails to hinder Jon and Grander.

One Orc's arrow hits Grander in the side (6 wounds).

In spite of having its sword broken on Argoss' shield, the Dark Elf Champ still batters the barbarian to the ground (2 DD with each hit, Argoss on ZERO Wounds).

Thunnk is ripped apart by the Chaos Hounds! (on ZERO Wounds).


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Healing Hands twice (6 wounds on others, 30 XP) saving Argoss and Thunnk. Jon heals Grander nicely (6 wounds, 30 XP).

Grander wounds a Chaos Hound once with his Blade of Slicing (3 wounds). He then sends a very weak lightning bolt to strike the shaman (no wounds caused).

Jon fails to hit the Dark Elf Champ.

Grimface *attacks the champion, and the first attack is dead on (two 6's for damage )
Dodge: 4 - failed, so dead Champion!! *

Thunnk misses the wounded hound twice.

'Ere We Go - The Shaman floods his allies with power. All Orcs and Goblins on the board get +1 Attack this turn and +1 Toughness next turn.

The Chaos Hounds rip Thunnk apart once again. Sure is a good thing there is a bit of magic in the air.

Jon moves to engage the orcs and misses an orc.

Grimface *moves 4 times west and attacks the most eastern one, the hit is perfect, but the newfound Toughness of the archers makes for a good defence. The archer makes it out alive with 1 wound left!* Then... his second attack, *cleaves the orc in half", but misses the next orc.

Thunnk slays one Chaos Hound and wounds another (5 wounds).


Monster Phase

The Orc Shaman almost kills Thunnk with Brain Bursta (the dreaded result of 1 for Thunnk), but Grander's Luck enables him to dispel the spell just in time.

An Orc's arrow glances harmlessly of of Argoss' armour. The Shaman wounds Jon (3 wounds). The other Orc wounds Jon as well (4 wounds).

The Chaos Hounds still ganging up on Thunnk, give him a slight tearing of his flesh (2 wounds from one attack that hits).


Reaction Phase

Jon only heals Thunk, but does so quite well (5 wounds, 25 XP).

Jon slays one Orc archer, but misses the Shaman -- of which he is NOT afraid.

Grimface moves to attack the archer, but he misses twice!

Thunnk - *Frothing & Cursing at these blighted hounds Thuunk launches into another flurry.* He slays one hound and greatly wounds another (6 wounds), while missing with his second attack.


Monster Phase

The shaman uses Brain Bursta against Jon. Grander tries to stop it (magic dispel), but his magic fails. Brain Bursta hurts Jon severely (4 wounds), but he is still standing.

The Chaos Hounds slightly wound Thuunk (1 wound), but their second attack (one hound by itself) fails to hit him, because of his Rune of Parrying (He missed with one of his attacks which turns into a parry.).

Then the shaman misses Grimface with its sword. The Orc Archer cuts into Grimface with its sword (2 wounds).

Jon heals Argoss (4 wounds, 20 XP).

Jon takes the Ocr Boss out of its magical snare landing it in the bushes hext to him. Then he wounds the greenskin nicely (4 wounds).

Grimface attacks the Orc Boss (2 wounds).

Thunnk moves toward the action.

The Orc Boss cannot do anything yet as the effects from the spell leave him in a groggy state of mind.

Grander hits the last orc with a weak arrow, which is harmlessly deflected by its armour. Then he saves his power for healing.

Jon misses.

Grimface barely wounds the tough orc (1 wound).

Thunnk *leaps at the Boss (NW), missing with his first strike (2), but his second is a solid blow (6) causing a large gash across the Orc's chest(4+9-6T=7wounds), the foul creature doesn't have the sense to lie down and die quite yet however...*


Monster Phase

The Orc Boss clobbers Jon, taking him down easily (ZERO Wounds).


Reaction Phase

Grander casts Heal Wounds on Jon (4 Wounds, 20 XP) and then cast Life Bringer on Jon and Thunnk (4 and 1 wounds, 25 XP). Jon heals himself (5 Wounds) and Thunnk (6 Wounds, 30 XP).

Grander, tired of doing little against the last enemy, moves in to attack with his Blade of Slicing, hitting once and causing a slight wound (1 wound).

Jon wounds the boss a bit more (2 wounds).

Grimface - *Determined to take its last breath away, Grimface swings his axe with as much force as he can!, the first attack misses, while the 2nd hits dead on! And with the might of the Dwarf Kings, Grimface decapicates his opponent, and leaves him to hang in the bush, headless..*

Combat Over! Someone may still open the treasure chest, which will be something other than waht is listed below.

Gold to each warrior = 737

Treasures =

Runeshot 800G (Obj. Rm. Treas.)(BDW) Runeshot is normal shot inscribed with Firebomb runes. If a monster is hit with Runeshot, after normal damage is worked out, the ball explodes, causing 2D6 Wounds (this is a separate attack with normal modifiers). If the hit roll was a 5 or 6, the ball enters the monster’s body and the explosion is unmodified for toughness or armor. The bag of Runeshot found is magical and will never run out. Note: no negative Ballistic to hit modifier for ethereal and daemonic beings. emoticon

A warrior must have a gun to use Runeshot. Only Argoss, Grander, or Grimface may actually use Runeshot if they get a Musket, pistol or some such weapon.

Dawnstone (BDEW) 500G
This crystal-like stone is mounted in a black iron brooch and radiates a pale light like that of the early morning.
The Dawnstone may be used to restore any one Warrior to full wounds immediately, even if he is at zero wounds or dead. One use, then discard. Please remember that this item can resurrect one warrior from the dead. emoticon

Treasure Turn: anyone except Grander.

Thunnk *trundles over to the chest.* He finds...

Thorn of Chaos - 500 gold. (BDEW)
This jet-black saber glows an eerie green color, and bursts into unholy green flame when wielded offensively.
The Thorn of Chaos causes double damage on a successful hit, but if the hit roll is a 1, the warrior is overcome by the powers of chaos and uses his remaining attacks against the other warriors. Double damage = damage dice result multiplied by 2 and then add the warrior's strength.

AND, he also finds 150 Gold Pieces.

Jon's or Thunnk's turn for treasure.

Argoss gives the gold to Thunnk and the Chaos Thorn to Jon.


Reaction Phase

Grander heals Argoss and Grimface (3 & 5 wounds, 40 XP).

The Fire of Vision


Grander has the warriors gather around the fire. He instructs them all to gaze into the flames, while he mumbles some type of chanting incantation...

Into the fire of vision we stare,
Magical flames dance, spin, and flare.
The distance we see amidst the flaming glare
Of a new place now we are all aware!



Instantly, the warriors seem to snap out of a flame-induced trance, and looking around, find they are in the common room of an inn sitting around a lively fireplace.

Grander says,
quote:

Yes, yes, that's it! We are now in the city of Rockdale . We are farther down the same mountain range in which Stone Mountain is so prominent. But, it is again a different time, farther back.



The warriors may want to meet back at the common room to discuss what is going on in this time, but for now they may go about the city as normal visiting locations, training, and trading.
